The visual feast which is the costumes, background and lighting is breathtaking at times, and takes every audience to a dazzling world to tell the story of Simba. The carnival atmosphere, enhanced by the dramatic action and movements of the characters on stage, allows anyone to forget where they are and become captivated by their new surroundings.
The story follows the adventures and struggles of a young lion who learns of his place in the “circle of life” on his route to become the rightful king. Follow through his adventures and learn the important rules of life as he does, it is an emotional and exciting production.
The theatrical resources used by the producer Julie Taymor has allowed this musical to maintain the same magic which was witnessed in the cartoon film. With music from Sir Elton John
Reviews of the show have said it shows “some of the richest imagery the studio's animators have produced and held together” and “one of Disney's greatest achievements”.
