Billy Elliot will dance right off the stage and into your heart
The tagline for the 2000 Stephen Daldry Directed Billy Elliot that danced into many an urban heart was ‘Inside every one of us is a special talent waiting to come out. The trick is finding it.’ Well if you didn’t find the film version inspiring enough to dance your way around the kitchen in front of your coal mining father, then perhaps the live West End version will do it for you. Stephen Daldry brings Billy back to us with this run at the Victoria Palace Theatre. With breathtaking choreography by Peter Darling, and that standard of the feel-good musical; songs by Elton John all of which adds up to a completely delightful, happy happy joy joy feeling, as you attempt to dance your way out of the theatre and through Belgrave Square. All that dancing will no doubt work up an appetite so why not make it an evening with a Theatre Meal Deal - take a post-show meal at somewhere like Bertorelli’s at Firth Street for two people with theatre tickets included for just over £60 per person. Not too shabby for a good night’s entertainment and grub to follow. So just follow the easy steps and dance your way into a good night.
